Accounting and Valuation

The Support Tools contained in this section provide an overview of DoD item valuation implementation issues and methods. The purpose of IUID is to both uniquely identify and value items for better asset accountability and valuation. A number of DoD directives provide guidance. Unit acquisition cost should be the basis for valuation of property. The contract type determines the proper method for calculating acquisition cost.
